Not only well-engineered cars, Autobahn, Bratwurst, Kindergarten, Sauerkraut, hearty food, Oktoberfest and folk music come from the country located between the North Sea and the Alps: the Riesling viniculture region has spread from its birthplace at the Rhine and its auxiliary rivers in the southwest to all corners of the world. However, the unique geographical, geological and climatic conditions which contribute to the original taste of Riesling can only be found here. Approximately 60% of the world’s Riesling is cultivated in Germany.
